Abe Bresky Obituary

Abe Bresky was born on December 10th, 1941 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan to the late Abe and Evangeline Bresky. He passed away at his home in the RM of Kenville, Manitoba on October 10th, 2019 at the age of 76 years.

Abe began his working life at the age of 16 years old. His first job was with Jack Hogg as a farm hand and trapping assistant. He worked at a sawmill with Carl Cober for a while and he went to work with his brothers Kenny and Herb, hand falling and later running thrasher. He believed in working hard and although his ways of instilling that value into his children were not always gentle, he did manage to create an exceptional work ethic them.

Abe’s education and working years are important and noteworthy parts of his life but they are not the most important parts of his accomplishments. His life work in raising his seven kids and later developing a relationship with his grandchildren are what really matter.

He was a very particular, organized and stubborn man who could be bull headed but he would give everything he had and go without just to ensure that his loved ones had what they needed. He had an excellent sense of humour and believed that laughter was essential for living well. He will be missed wholeheartedly.

Abe was predeceased by: his parents Abe and Eva Bresky; his son Joe; 4 brothers and 1 sister.

He is survived by: 3 brothers; 1 sister; 2 sons; 5 daughters; 2 daughters-in-law; 2 sons-in-law; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; his cat (for about an hour) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
