With profound sadness we announce the passing of our dad, Choom, Brother, Uncle, Father-in-Law, Brother-in-Law, and Friend Alec Wilfred Leask. At 71, Alec journeyed onto the spirit world, peacefully at Brandon Hospital in Brandon Manitoba.
Alec was born in Shoal River, MB on August 13, 1953, and lived most of his life there. He was a retired Fire Chief from Pelican Rapids Fire Department, where he served with great honor for many years, and sat on the Citizenship committee as an Elder. He was an excellent mechanic in his spare time, who everyone went to, and especially loved going to play bingo. Alec truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; loved sitting around and chatting with his visitors, his favorite thing to do was drive and he drove everywhere. He will truly be missed by many.
Surviving He leaves his daughters Vivian (Leon) Fourre, Freda (Thunder) Leask, his sons Wilfred (Amanda) Fourre, Clarence (Precious) Fourre and Phoenix Leask. Also, all 34 of his choomies and 2 great grandchildren, who he loved and cared for dearly.
His brothers Alderick, Robert (Leona) Leask, His loving sisters, Alice Gill, Mary Lou, Shirley (Percy) Genaille, and Sandra Leask.
Alec was predeceased by his wife Brisine Leask; Parents Wesley & Nancy Leask; Brothers Joseph Leask, Clarence Leask, Lyle Leask; Sister Ethel Leask, and many other family members, who have gone on before him.
A reminder to my siblings:
You may not have got to spend the rest of your life with dad, but he got to spend the rest of his life with us.
The family would like to acknowledge the health team in Swan Valley Hospital, Brandon ICU, STARS Ambulance, SCN Health Authority, Paull Funeral Home, Sapotaweyak Cree Nation Cheif and Council, and everyone else for their support and condolences through our challenging time.
