In Loving Memory of Alice Woitowicz (nee Chief)

March 23, 1959 – October 21, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alice Woitowicz (nee Chief) of Duck Bay, Manitoba. With family by her side, Alice passed away on October 21, 2024, at Grace Hospital in Winnipeg MB. Alice was born in Duck Bay on March 23,1959 to Lawrence & Rose Chief. During her life Alice resided in Swan River with her husband John Mylnarowich, after his passing in March 2021, she moved to Dauphin and then Winnipeg in 2022. Alice loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed playing cards, loved playing bingo, cooking, and arts & crafts. She was always ready to help with community events by cooking for many people and was always ready to lend a helping hand. She looked forward to visits from her children, grandchildren, family & friends. She also loved visiting in Duck Bay to be with her twin (friend) Pauline and other close friends because she knew it would be a good card game of bingo and spent a lot of time in Swan River with her friend Bev. Alice is sadly missed by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Alice leaves to mourn her son Donny, grandchildren, Lisa-Dawn, Austin, Delta, Riley; daughter Susie, grandchildren, Natasha, Dakota, Robert, Drake and her great-grandchildren Carlos, Abel, Jaxson, Rowan, Colton, Thomas, Ariyah, Xavia, Zendaya, Emryn and Lucas, Grayson, Lianna-Lee. Alice will be missed by her sisters Susan (Harvey), Irene (Paul), Mary; brothers John (Esther), Howard, Dennis, Bryan, Joseph. Alice will also be fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Alice was predeceased by her parents Lawrence & Rose Chief, sister Doreen, brother Danny, and granddaughter Savannah.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024 from 2-7 p.m. at Kekinan Centre, 100 Robinson St, Winnipeg; Saturday, November 9, 2024 from 12-6 p.m. at Metis Community Centre, 101, 11th Ave SW, Dauphin. As per Alice’s wishes, internment of ashes will be laid to rest beside her husband John in Swan River at Birchwood Cemetery on November 16, 2024 at 1 p.m.

Dear Lord, we are asking you to ease our sorrow. The only way for us to have some comfort and peace is to know that our mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend Alice is standing next to you and laying peacefully in your arms. Amen
