Charlotte Jane Cook

We sadly announce the passing of Charlotte Jane Cook on May 17, 2025 at the age of 40 years old

Charlotte was born March 4th 1985 to Daniel Genaille and Rose Genaille at Swan River hospital MB. She was raised in Sapotaweyak Cree Nation.

Charlotte graduated her grade 12. She later worked as an EA at the NDKMS school and later traveled to work in a different reserve as one. She enjoyed being around her family. She loved her nieces and nephews. There was never a dull moment with her.

Charlotte was a kind loving person. She liked attending treaty days and participating in activities with her sisters (the duckets). She also liked to sing. Most of all, she loved her kids very much. She may have lived a different life choice but we always knew she loved them deeply and we loved her no matter what or who she was, that didn’t stop her from always showing up.

Charlotte is survived by her children, Littlewind, Karlos, Morning Star, Greyson, Samantha and her partner Wayne Cook, Dad: Daniel, Sisters: Carmelita, Diana (Craig), Tammy (Josh), brothers, Merlin, Joseph, Aaron (Tamara), Hank (April), BJ (Kyla), Paul (Lavinia), and Walter as well as nuerous other relatives.
