It is with sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our loved one, Colin Brass Sr., on December 5, 2025, at Sapotaweyak Cree Nation.
Colin was born on February 25, 1959, at Sapotaweyak Cree Nation, to Sydney and Doreen Brass. He lived his life in the community, where he met his dear wife, Lorraine. They were united in marriage on November 1, 1985, and shared forty years together, raising their children close to home and community.
Colin worked for many years as a medical driver. He had many hobbies, including hunting, fishing, trapping, and sweetgrass picking. His greatest passion, however, was being out on the open road every day — always on the move, always finding something to do.
He loved spending time with his choomies and chapans and enjoyed playing his guitar and singing with Rhoda. Colleen was his baby girl; she loved being around Papa, even if they weren’t doing anything at all. Papa always did what he could to provide for his family. He was a good man, with a good heart. ♡ LLC
“We love and miss you, Papa.”
My Papa always made jokes. He often sang to us in a funny way, and he never let us go hungry. He made sure I remembered his big breakfasts — the best ones he always made. He used to say his food was not junk, but it was. He was also a Grinch at Christmas — LOL. I will miss you so much, Papa.
