Corliss Fay Burnett Obituary

Corliss was born in Virden Manitoba
to Bert and Beth Burnett (deceased),
a sister to Aaron(Kim). The family
moved to Swan River Manitoba in
1960 where she welcomed a sister,
brenda(Cottrell), and a brother
Douglas (deceased). As a child she
spent many hours with her first love,
horses. She could be found in the
barnyard often, riding or attending
to them.
She was an avid reader from a
young age. She attended college in
Brandon, following in her Mother's
foot steps to gain her LPN, later
returning to earn her RN in The
Pas.After working in Saskatoon for
a few years she returned to swan
River to help Beth when Bert's health
failed. She cared for her mother as
she aged, and was always sure to
check in on Baba Olive (deceased)
to assist where she could. Through
all her trials and tribulations, she
kept her sense of humor and her
beautiful smile.
In 1982 she became Auntie! This
was truly her life long passion, it
changed her trajectory in life. She
served her role to all her nephews
and nieces with ALL the love and
dedication. She was with her sister
to spend time, offer emotional and
sanity support whenever she could
for Ivan, Dayle, Nila and Graham.
She welcomed Douglas ' girls,
Stephanie, Samantha, and Stacey
into life with excitement, as she did
with the same enthusiasm and
excitement. But she took it one step
further and welcomed them into her
home to love and nurture them as
their mother. They wanted for
nothing. The undeniable joy each
and every one of her grand nieces
and nephews brought was
undeniable.
She was a caregiver if ever there
was one.
We will all hold you close in our
hearts as you ride off (on a beautiful
stallion I'm sure) knowing you are
where you deserve to be
and that you are deeply loved. Until
we meet again.
