Dana Genaille Obituary

Dana also known as Gam left us peacefully on Oct 1, 2024, at the age of 36 years old

Dana, daughter of Rosalind Laura Genaille and Daniel Leslie Genaille. Dana was born on July 15, 1988, Swan River, Manitoba

Mom of 5 kids who she loved very much, she loved talking about them to people. She always told how proud she was of them. No matter what people said about her she always had a big smile on her face whether the situation was bad or not. She loved being around her family, especially her sisters. She enjoyed walking around visiting her friends, Dana also loved singing and dancing while cleaning. She made everyone laugh and smile with her personality and humor.

She was very loved by her parents and family; she loved her nieces and nephew very much, there's not a day gone by where she wasn't with her family. Dana also loved braiding and making sweet grass with her brothers and dad outside where she would sing out loud and loved annoying her brothers. Every year on treaty days Dana and her sisters would always compete in singing competitions, dance covers, and racing. She loved putting on makeup and doing her hair and clothes.

My mom was the strongest person I known; she had her problems, but she always had a smile no matter what. I loved visiting my mom even if it was only a second because each second counted. I'm going to miss the times we laughed as mom and daughter; no one is going to ever replace you.

No one can make me smile like you did.

No one can make me feel happy like you did.

No one can make you feel sad like you did.

No one can make you feel mad like you did.

No one will ever understand how much I cared for and loved you; one was there those nights when i would stay up all night wondering how you were doing, these nights I felt grief and ashamed because I couldn't help you. I will forever and always cherish the moments we had, the bad and the good. I hope you look down on me when I graduate, when I have my first baby, I hope you're going to be with me through everything. My mommy was beautiful and still is, going to miss the times you would run your fingers through my hair.

It feels weird not having a mom, the mom that gave birth to you, the mom that fed you and changed you, the mom who told you that no matter what they always love you no matter what. My mom's home.
