Denise Dorothy LaFontaine of Swan River, MB, passed away in Winnipeg on January 26, 2022, at the age of 65 years. She was born in Calgary, AB on August 3, 1956, to Maurice and (the late Dorothy) Roberge.
Denise received her secondary education at Red River Polytech (College). During her childhood, she was able to reside all over Canada as a child due to her father’s working in the Armed Forces.
On August 30, 1980, Denise married Remi Erik LaFontaine in Thompson Manitoba.
Denise worked as a Lab Technologist for 44 years. She started in Lynn Lake, then Thompson, and finally ending up in Swan River where she worked until she retired. She loved her job!
Denise loved to sew and cross stitch; but spending time with her grandchildren mattered most. She had a green thumb and loved working in her garden.
Left to mourn Denise’s passing are: her husband Remi LaFontaine; daughter Elana LaFontaine; sons Luke, Laurence and Matthew LaFontaine; brother Marcel Roberge; sister Gaylene Dzulgan; father Maurice Roberge; grandchildren Brianna LaFontaine, Shaylee LaFontaine and Kian LaFontaine; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and friends.
Denise was predeceased by her mother Dorothy Roberge.
