Doreen Genaille Obituary

Doreen Sylvia Genaille was born March 27,1952 .

At the age of 72 on June 18th at 4:40 AM she passed on with family by her side in Brandon hospital.

She lived in Swan River, MB half of her life where she raised her sister Bernice Guiboche’s daughters from young. Cheryl and Chantel Guiboche, and Shabon and Cheyenne Cutlip.

She also raised shabon’s two oldest  daughters Shelly and Selena Cutlip and along with Doreen’s son TJ (Gilbert Adrian Genaille) who gave her a grandson who shares a strong resemblance as her son at his age.

She called her son TJ her big man or boss man as a boy and Shelly her boss girl, and with Selena it was mostly “leave my baby alone” to the other two. Otherwise She called them all her babies.

Shabon’s youngest daughter Ariana Cutlip and Cheyenne’s son Izayah Cutlip would visit with her and it made her so happy to see them that she would smile about her visit with them for days.

She enjoyed seeing all of her grandchildren and nieces and nephews, they all gave her a story to tell about them and laugh at while she told them.

Her granddaughters Jurnee, Bernice who she called Jaylynn or jellybean, Rhoda Guiboche and her grandson Syzario Audy who would visit her every summer and the girls would stop in with their babies for her to visit with to.

She was very proud of Cheryl’s kids Tatyana, Silas, autumn and Nolan for graduating and being good kids and working.

Myrna and Fay Guiboche, and Fred Guiboche are her remaining siblings. Her brother Allan Guiboche and sister Myrtle Guiboche have been gone for some time now ahead of their sister Doreen.

Her and her sisters didn’t always get along or talk and laughed at each other for trying to stay mad, and her brothers were the babies.

She  was also close to Donna Strongquill. They were like sisters and they always got along, they listened to eachother speak and always spoke softly unless they were laughing. Their responses were always genuine with eachother and helped eachother out here n there.

Patricia, Adam and Mathew Keshane were her niece and nephews. Her niece would bring her sweets for when her sugar would get low and help her wash her hair and sponge bath or her granddaughters or her girl Cheryl or one of her niece’s, she enjoyed their company.

She had her coffee right when she woke up and throughout the day, and LD standard bold cigarettes, she read the star and times and watched the news, her favorite tv shows were the young and the restless, highway to heaven, little house on the Prairie, beach combers, corner gas, the good doctor and other shows similar and ones that made her laugh. She also read a lot of romance novels and mysteries, she would even laugh while reading. She went to bingo many years where she enjoyed seeing friends or even slots to hope she’d “win it big” and bring home lemon pepper dry ribs, wedges and sour cream and poutine for her kids, or take them to KFC or dairy queen witch was their favorite.

She would drink once a year on New year’s and listened to people sing at the Nelson that night with family and friends who she drank under the table.

She worked at the Nelson as housekeeping and ANW on School hours, she would surprise her kids and drop off ANW at their school sometimes.

Every year for Christmas Eve and Thanksgiving she would have a supper for her family and a few close friends. On Easter when her kids and grandkids and nieces and nephews were young, the girls would help her put together Easter baskets.

The northwest roundup and expedition, she would never let her son and two granddaughters miss it, Lawrence brass would help her pay for the girls bracelets or tickets and food.

Lawrence and her and the girls were very close with each other and Shabon.

On Christmas she made sure the kids had it good, and something to always look forward to.

She never had kid’s of her own so she loved the ones that she could as her own.

Paul bearers: Roger Genaille, Mathew Keshane, TJ (Gilbert Adrian Genaille), Anthony Paul, Brandon Paul, Adam Keshane.
