Dwaine Makasoff was born on October 14th, 1951 in Benito, Manitoba to the late Walter and Leona Makasoff. He was the first born son and following Dwaine was the arrival of three brothers, Randy, Kevin and Kelly.

Dwaine grew up in Benito and recieved his education there along with attending Thunderbird and Border Road schools.

Throughout Dwaine's life he travelled many places and experienced an abundance of areas because of his passion for the Diamond Drilling industry. He dabbled in construction but what kept his interest was rig life. The last and most recent employment trip he took was to Thunder Bay, Ontario to work at the mine. His failing health kept him from working as hard as he had intention to and ultimately he died "with his work boots on" in Thunder Bay on November 22nd, 2021 at the age of 70 years.

He kept a few hobbies like reading and writing but the best memories of him are in fishing adventures, visiting, playing cards and stories of his travels.

Dwaine is remembered by: his children, Zack, Justin, Jason and Christina; his brothers Kevin and Kelly (Kristin) and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
