It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, (kouchea) Elizabeth Gertie Thompson on July 9th, 2019 at the age of 93 years.

She leaves to mourn; children Bryan (Bella), Lawrence (Judy), Edward (Patricia), Audrey, Sharon (John), Lesley and daughter-in-law Madeline; her other children whom she raised as her own Brian (Rhonda) and Dinah; her   numerous, twenty-one grandchildren; fifty-six great-grandchildren and twenty-four great-great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth was predeceased by; her husband Frank; mother Virginia Genaille; father Pierre Boucher; daughter Nancy; sons Ronald, Walter, Daniel andFranklin; grandchildren Nancy, Eric, and Michael; great-great-grandchildren Kashton, Shaina, Alex, Alec, Harry, George and Chrysostome.

Elizabeth was born and raised in Duck Bay.

She married her husband Frank on January 14th, 1947, together they worked side by side, pulp cutting, senecea root digging, trapping and fishing while  raising their children. Elizabeth’s favourite pass time was berry picking, canning, sewing and making puzzles. Her favourite of all was playing cards with her children and grandchildren. Elizabeth was also a foster parent. She kept many children and treated them like her own. Elizabeth will be sadly missed and remembered by her children, grandchildren, great-grand-children and all that knew her. If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I’d walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.
