Eugene was born in Swan River Manitoba on May 8th 1982 and started his journey to the spirit world at the Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops BC on May 31st, 2025, at 5:55pm (7:55pm MB time)
Eugene was raised on the WSFN by his grandparents, Norman and Lillian Audy. He lived in Swan River MB with his Mother, late Stepfather Douglas Fidler and baby brother Doug Jr. Eugene also resided in Barrows, Birch River, and Brandon. While in Brandon he spent most of his time with his Aunt Suzanne before he moved to B.C, eventually Eugene made Merritt B.C his home.
Before his illness Eugene enjoyed spending time with family and friends. His hobby was making dream catchers. Eugene received his education at the SVRSS and eventually went on to get his grade 12 GED as an adult at the Swan River Friendship Centre and graduated June 18th, 2010. Eugene did commercial fishing with his late uncle Lyle and late Stepfather Douglas. He Loved walking around singing and always sang the song “Pictures” by Kid Rock to his mom. Before the major change in his life, Eugene was a fun, loving, thoughtful, always laughing and joking person who would help anyone in need.
While residing in Swan River Eugene’s late brother Darcy, and late sister Jolene spent many days together. The three could always be found together having disagreements and ratting each other out to “Mother”. Eugene earned his nickname from his brother Darcy who couldn’t pronounce Eugene, it came out as “Gene-Gene”. Eugene and Darcy were extremely close and were often referred to as “The Boys”. Now The Boys and their sister are once again reunited in the spirit world.
“My son Eugene, my Gene-Gene, GENE!!! You were, are and always will be so loved and missed by me, Love Mother.”
