Ewald Redlick Obituary

Ewald was born in Germany in 1940, he moved to Canada at a young age with his parents Emil and Sara to the Swan River Valley. Ewald was the youngest of four children Ida, Adolph, Hilda. Ewald went to school in the Ravensworth district and eventually took over farming when Emil and Sara retired. Ewald married Margaret Brading in 1968 and they started their family of 4 children. Angela(Robert-step) children- Braden (Colleen), Brandon, Ervin(Amy) children Dillon (Naiomi) and Saige, Jason(Leslie)children Landon-J, Jordan and Jay-Dean(Miranda)children-Kieran, Shyanne (step daughter). Ewald dedicated his life to working and providing for his family to make the best possible life for everyone. He worked for Water Resources driving a gravel truck and maintaining the farm at the same time. There were many nights he would farm into the early morning before heading to work to drive truck. He enjoyed animals and giving his family the most to experience from horses, cattle to name a few animals on the farm. Ewald always provided for his family and showed them that hard work was a way of life to get ahead in this world. He gave his boys dirt bikes to ride and his daughter her joy which was horses and they loved growing up and have great memories to this day. He was always there to watch his kids play sports and be a part of the community. He spent countless hours travelling and watching his kids play sports which was one of his favorite things to do. Ewald was a jack of all trades as he was incredible in the bush from chain saw work to welding on the farm and could fix anything. Ewald was a unique individual as he was tough when he had to be and could be gentle when the time was right. He always had something to say and tried to make everyone laugh with every conversation. He would go out of his way to help people stuck in ditches, flat tires or to trying to save a pilot that crashed in the duck mountains. People would go out of their way to always thank him after the fact but that’s the type of person he was. Ewald and Margaret sold the farm in 2002 and moved to Swan River. They enjoyed their time in town and was happy having a park in his back yard where he had a river once again and sports to watch. Ewald and Margaret had many great years in Swan River during their retirement enjoying their grandkids and life in general. Ewald eventually moved to the Personal Care Home for health reasons where he eventually passed on. Ewald was a great husband, father and grandfather he will be missed but we will always carry a memory of him in our hearts.
