Florence Muriel Louise Ferris (Muriel) passed away peacefully at the age of eighty five.
She will be lovingly remembered by her four children and their families Brian; Brenda (Murray); Patti (Lloyd); Kevin (Nicolle); grandchildren Riley, Alexis, Larry, Shale, Brandon, Dakota, Jacob, Jasmine, Dusty, Roderick; many great grandchildren; her sister Amy and sister in-laws Anna, Laura, Eva and numerous nieces and nephews.
Muriel was predeceased by her husband Norm, her sister Myrt and brothers David and Jim.
Born in Roblin Manitoba, she married Norm Ferris in 1956 and they resided in Dropmore, Roblin, Grandview and eventually made their home in Swan River. Muriel worked at the Roblin Hospital until her children came along. Her home was her happy place, always canning, cooking and gardening. She had a love for puzzles; crossword, search-a-word, and jigsaw, and could be seen doing one of them every afternoon and evening. And let’s not forget her love of Bingo. Muriel came from a musical family. When they got together the sound of fiddles, guitars and every other instrument could be heard. She was one of the song birds in the family and sang everything from wartime songs, country, love ballads and in her later years opera. There wasn’t a musical she didn't love. Muriel will be always remembered for her straight forward, tell it like it is attitude, always having her coffee pot on for anyone who popped in and sharing any of her food creations she made. She will be greatly missed.
Muriel never liked being the centre of attention and per her wishes a private family service will take place later this year.
