Gilbert "Cheechee Man" Barker

With great sadness we announce the passing of Gilbert George Barker (Cheechee man) on April 20, 2024 at the age of 66.

Cheechee man was born in Swan River, MB on September 23, 1957 to Gertie and Albert Barker. Cheechee man resided with his parents in Barrows also lived in National Mills, Baden and Sap with his wife Lorraine Susan Barker.

He loved hunting, fishing, trapping, and visiting with friends and family.

Surviving family; siblings Clifford Barker AKA Bad Boy, Lucy Barker, Doug Chamberlin (Irene), children; Joy Barker, Lisa Quill (George), Wayne Cook, Terrance Quill, Sheena Guiboche, 13 grandchildren; Jordon Barker, Rodney Barker, Justice Barker, Graci Kematch, Sharon Quill, Brielle Cook, Clair bear Rowe, Hayden Cook, Jarred Sutherland, great grandchildren; Blake Barker, Dakota Clarkson, Kenai Clarkson.

Predeceased by parents Gertie and Albert Barker, siblings Irene Richards, Beatrice Barker, Louise Wood, Michael Barker AKA Many, his wife Lorraine Susan Barker, children Gilbert Genaille, Amanda Quill, Samantha Cook, grandchildren Trevor Quill, Jasmine Quill and Chasity Quill.
