Gilbert Chartrand Obituary

Gilbert resided in Minitonas, MB for 60 years. He was a loyal employee of the local concrete business there and served them for 52 years. He enjoyed baseball and coached for the Minitonas Women’s baseball team. One of Gilbert’s favorite ways to spend time was at family gatherings. He enjoyed time in his garden and watching his sports on TV. He took losses pretty hard, causing him to shut off the TV when his teams (Toronto Blue Jays, Winnipeg Jets & Winnipeg Blue Bombers) were losing.


Leaves to mourn: his wife Patsy; daughter, Cheryl (Wayne); son Calvin; his little buddy Oliver; brothers, Archie (the late Marilyn), Ken (Barbara), Dale (Caroline), Ben (Caroline) Gilly; sisters, Gwen (the late Robert), Mary (Johnny), Bertha (the late Oliver); numerous grandkids, great-grandkids, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.


Gilbert was predeceased by: his parents Virginia & Alexandre; his daughter April Sutherland and his son Gilbert Jr.; brother Fred C., Fred F., Leonard, Jim & Dolphus; sisters, Lena, Theresa, Gertie, Linda & Lisa Rose.
