Gwen Marie (Chartrand) Hay

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gwen Marie Hay on February 24, 2025 at the age of 71 years old.

Gwen was born in Birch River, MB on March 29, 1953 to Alexandre and Virginia Chartrand. Gwen was a kind soul and a loving mother, daughter, sister, auntie and grandma. She lived in Minitonas for most of her life, which is where she met her husband Robert Hay. They got married in 2001 and enjoyed a happy life together till his passing in October 2020.

Gwen loved planting flowers, garage sales and spending time with family, especially her children and grandchildren. Before his passing, she and Robert spent most of their time outdoors enjoying quadding, fishing, hunting, and watching their grandsons play hockey.

Gwen was predeceased by her parents Alexandre and Virginia Chartrand, her daughter Tammy Chartrand, brothers Gilbert Chartrand, Leonard Chartrand & Fred Guiboche, her sisters Gertie Chartrand, Lena, and Theresa Spence.

Gwen leaves to mourn her daughters Ruby Chartrand, Daphne (Warren) Houle, her son Steven (Nattalie) Kopecky. Her beloved grandchildren Tristan Chartrand, Theron and Trinity Chartrand, Savana Kopecky, Conrad, Madison, and Mya Houle, Garrett, Desirée, and Rayann Chartrand, Kash, Nora, Maddox, and Ava Kopecky.

She also leaves her brothers, Dale (Caroline) Chartrand, Kenneth (Barbara) Chartrand, Benson (Caroline) Chartrand, and Archie Chartrand; Her sisters Mary (Johnny) Chartrand, Bertha (Oliver) Ferland, and Annie Thompson.

Gwen had 11 great-grandchildren that she adored, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Evening Prayers will be held on Thursday, February 27th, 2025 beginning at 7:00 pm at the Chapel of Paull Funeral Home, Swan River, MB. In keeping with Gwen's wishes, cremation will take place following the evening prayers.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28th, 2025 at 2:30 pm at Chapel of Paull Funeral Home, Swan River, MB.

Gwen will be laid to rest in the Minitonas Cemetery following the funeral service.
