Irene (Forsachuk) Banting

Irene Banting of Swan River, MB, passed away on November 06, 2023 at the age of 82 years.

Irene was born in Stenen, SK on November 28, 1940 to John and Mary Forsachuk.

On September 17, 1960 she married Wayne Banting in Birch River. The wedding took place in Bowsman with the reception following at the farm in Bowsman.

Irene and Wayne lived in a small trailer that they pulled from Gypsumville to Ross Percy to Bissett, Squaw Rapids and to The Pas. After that they lived in houses in Norway House, Ilford, LacDuBonnet, Stead, Pine Falls, Riverton, Stonewall, Grandview and then the last few years back in Swan River.

Throughout these years Irene had several jobs which included working at the hardware store in Riverton, an accounting firm in Stonewall and Carte Electric in Winnipeg.

Irene leaves behind her loving husband Wayne, son Kyle, daughters Juanita and Dawn, grandsons Kory and Logan.

She is survived by sisters Anne Sholudko and Ollie (Dave) Viflanzoff, Sister-in-law Wilma McFadyen (Alvin) and sister-in-law Lynda Banting.

Irene was predeceased by her brother Sam Forsachuk, brother-in-law Syd Banting, brother-in-law Alex Sholudko and parents John and Mary Forsachuk.
