James "Jim" Staples Obituary

Our dear Dad lived a full life of seventy nine years up until Dec 18th, 2022.
He came from loving parents, “Newt” and “Nellie”, was the youngest of six(Irene, Betty, Arnold, Les, Verla), and had many cousins and relatives. Dad was shown so much love right from the start. Dad shared all that love with others by always having a smile and offered a helping hand for anyone that needed it.
As a young adult Dad moved to BC, but after some years, the love of farming brought him back to the Valley.
In the early years of farming, he enjoyed working with his brother Arnold and nephew Chad. He continued to stay busy farming, enjoyed doing many carpentry jobs for friends and family, then also became a salesman at various farm dealerships, but then pursued his greatest love of custom crop spraying.
Dad made time to visit and laugh with friends and neighbours in town with a cup of coffee as much as he could.
He also enjoyed card games, playing pool, and golfing because he was so stinkin’ good at all of them!
When he met his future wife Linda at a Benito homecoming many years back, they were fools in love. They have been together ever since with lots of love and good fights all along the way. He loved his girls(Tammy&Hollie) & sons in law(Kyle&Scott), and had many happy family visits together.
Lots of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews would come visit the farm, and Dad would get a kick out of teaching them to drive machinery and help with chores.
Dad had an extra soft spot for his barn cats, one of them he even named “Jimbob”! Over the years, Dad and mom had goats, cows, and all different breeds of dogs, and of course Morgan horses on the farm.
He very much had a love for his Heavenly Father Jehovah and his son Jesus. He respectfully shared his faith with those that wanted to listen. He believed the Bible’s promise that in the future, he will be reunited with his loved ones. Until then, we will cherish the wonderful memories of our dear Dad.
