Obituary

Robert will be missed by his children: Sharon Contois, Carla Contois, Trina Contois, Sheila Contois, Dennis Malcom, Monica Beardy, Michelle Daniels, Monicalee Genaille (Charles; Stepchildren Autumn and Summer and as he would say, his “adopted” son Robert Campbell (Lynda).

Robert was predeceased by his parents Zachary and Elizabeth Contois. His sister Lena Brass, brother-in-law Gordon Brass and brother Nelson Contois.

Robert was a residential school survivor who grew up in Pine Creek First Nations. He was a proud father, grandfather, hunter, trapper, Commercial fisherman, truck driver and family provider. He was a hard working man all his life.

He also was a traditional teacher, healer and protector he always kept a close eye on those who were closest to him, whether you were his family, friend , neighbour or just someone walking down the road - he was always watching. That’s just the kind of man that he was. He had a lot of pride and took a lot of pride in what he did, and if you knew Robert you knew that he was always happy & fun to be around, and probably played a joke or two on you.
