John Sas

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Sas on Wednesday April 17, 2024 at the age of 94 years at the Swan Valley Health Centre.

John was born on June 14, 1929 in the RM of St. Phillips to Peter and Elizabeth Sas. He married Rose Hubic on April 30, 1953. They made their home in Benito.

John was a hard, dedicated worker. He retired at the young age of 86. Carpentry was his specialty. He was well known for all the barn style storage shed that he had built. He also had many small business adventures. His spare time was spent playing in a band, golfing in the summer and curling and travelling in the winter.

John was predeceased by his father Peter, mother Elizabeth, brother Bill and sister Tina.

John will be lovingly remembered by his wife Rose of 70 years, his son Brian (Brenda), grandchildren Dustin, Kristin (Geoff) and his brother Mike.

Special thanks to the many in home care staff, Doctor Burnside and staff, the staff of the Swan Valley Health Centre and also for all the expressions of sympathy.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation can be made in John’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation
