Obituary

Marcel left suddenly on February 21, 2023 performing his honor as a loving choom, walking osisima to school on a cold winter afternoon.  Marcel was raising two of five grandchildren the best way he knew how, with love, patience and gentle guidance.  A duty he shared with his loving wife, Juliette.  Juliette lovingly remembered by family as “Duke.”   “Duke” left her family on August 5th, 2020.

Marcel was born in Birch River, Manitoba to his parents, Nora and Ken Cook.  The first- born son with responsibility to assist with his siblings, Caroline (Edmond), Melba (John), Perry, Gary, Frank (Angela), Sterling.  Marcel enjoyed being the uncle to his many nieces and nephews, and he continued by welcoming his grand nieces and nephews into his home on an almost daily basis.

Marcel’s greatest love were his grandchildren, Kingsley and Lawcity Martin (Brandon), Connor, Drayson and Toby Beardy.  They will miss their choom very much.  His children, he and his wife raised have been in a loss, Marcel Beardy, Emily Beardy, Jenna Beardy and Elizabeth Cook (Eric) but will continue their father’s walk in their lives with strength, honor and love.

Marcel’s attribute as a guitar player, to be able to strum up some country songs, was a trait taught by his mom when he was a small boy.  Marcel was a hero to his family, when he rescued three boys falling through the ice in the river.  He saved Albert Chartrand, Darcy Kematch and Bo Miki that day.

Marcel was predeceased by his parents, Nora and Ken Cook, his loving wife, Juliette Cook, his daughter, Nikita Beardy and a grandson, Zander Cook.
