Maurice Gott Obituary

Maurice Gott born on June 29th,1984 to Marlene and Douglas Gott in Swan River, MB. Passed away peacefully at the age of 40 at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, MB.

Maurice was a Beloved son, brother, nephew and uncle who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He grew up in Sapotewayak Cree Nation where he attended school to grade 8. He then moved to Regina, Swan River and eventually graduated grade 12 in Riverton MB, while living with Uncle Mike and Auntie Agnes.

Through out his life Maurice was known for his kind and gentle nature. He had a deep love for his family and cherished the time he spent with his parents, siblings and extended family. In his free time Maurice enjoyed computers and video games. He took great pride knowing how to navigate and shared his knowledge and his field of work always involved technology. Maurice had various jobs in Sapotewayak, Grand Rapids Band offices and Riverton Friendship Centre.

Maurice was a loving uncle and godfather to many. He took great pride in being a role model and mentor to the younger generations in his family. His kindness, wisdom and guidance will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Maurice is survived by his parents; Marlene and Douglas Gott; his brothers Joey (Doris) Ballantyne, Jonathan (Rosie) Ballantyne, and only sister Liz (Stanley) Chartrand. Aunties and Uncle; Myra (Tom) Ballantyne, Mary Ballantyne, Agnes (Michael) Furgala, Betty Ann Sinclair, Ruby MacDonald, Charlie (Kathie) Ballantyne, Edwin (Annie) Ballantyne, Doug Ballantyne, Neil (Theresa) Ballantyne, Donald (Corinne) Ballantyne, Mal (Alison) Ballantyne, and Stanley (Rose) Gott. Also,his godparents, Lucy Robinson, and Doug Ballantyne. His nieces and nephews; Xena, Amelia, Shaylee, Alex, Matty, Danny, Nevada, Megan, Michel, Korey, and Stanley.

He was predeceased by his by his grandparents, William and Louise Ballantyne, Richard and Bertha Gott. His uncles; Joseph Ballantyne, Harvey Gott, Joseph MacDonald, Delbert Gott, Thomas Gott, Willard Sinclair. His Aunties; Glenny Genaille, Florence Rickard, Ethel Gott, Ada Genaille.

The memory of Maurice will forever live on in the hearts of is family & friends. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness and laughter. He will be remembered as a devoted son, loyal friend and a humorous soul.

Appreciation

The family would like to thank the Health Sciences Centre and Sapotewayak Cree Nation. A special thank you for the monetary donations and friends and family who visited Moe while he was in the hospital.
