In keeping with Melanie’s wishes cremation will take place. A wake and funeral will be held at a later date. Melanie will be laid to rest in the Bowsman Cemetery.

It is with profound sadness that the family of Melanie Sutherland announces her passing on December 21st, 2023 at the age of 47 years, surrounded by loved ones.

Melanie was born to Harry & Sarah Sutherland in Swan River, Manitoba on October 5th, 1976.

She is survived by: her partner, Alex Ferland; daughters, Brianna Guss (Jason) and Alesha Ferland and her baby boy (Junior) & Jade and grandson, Arius McKay; her mother Sarah Sutherland; mother-in-law, Berta Ferland as well as 6 sisters, 3 brothers and numerous cousins and friends.
