Myra Brass-Kematch Obituary

On Thursday, January 4, 2024 @ 5:30 AM at the Swan Valley Hospital our mother, sister and aunt peacefully departed to be with the loved ones who left before us.

Myra was born on May 8, 1964, in Birch River, Manitoba. Parents Sternie “For Drive” Kematch & Mariam Kematch (Nee Campeau) of Sapotaweyak Cree Nation.

Myra grew up in Shoal River, Manitoba. She received her schooling at the Pelican Rapids School and in Winnipeg, Manitoba @ the Gordan Bell High School. She grew up with Cousins/Sisters Annabelle Tucker, Barbara Cook and friends Vivian “Lana” Ballantyne & Sharon Brass. She was later married to Husband Eldon Brass, in the later years they separated but still remained close friends. She was known as “Mom” to many. She always helped when needed whether it was house cleaning, cooking, Bannock making and a listening ear. She loved to tell her story and considered herself an open book. Mom was a true believer in our Lord & Savior and respected all walks of life. She had a spot for everyone in her heart.

She leaves her daughters, Rhonda Loonfoot (Beardy) & Tessa Cook – Kematch (Jeffery Cook). Son’s Billy Brass, Dusty Brass and her baby Zacharias Brass.

Grandchildren: Jonas, Ryder, Cassie, Tommy, Emmanuel, Jeffery, Mikayla, Ella, Elijah, Serenity, T.J, Paris, Carly, Grace, Dane & Layla.

Great Grandchild: Layla Kematch.

Sister, Flora Kematch-Cook (Reynold Cook).

Brothers, Earnest Kematch & Delbert Kematch

Many nieces, nephews, cousins and relatives, too many to mention.
