Obituary

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Norm Davy on Thursday July 27th, 2023, at the Winnipeg Health Science Centre while surrounded by his family.

Norm was born on September 21st, 1962, in Flin Flon, MB to Allan and Sarah (Peggy) Davy and raised in Lynn Lake. Norm loved growing up in the North always had a fond story about his childhood. Lynn Lake was a mining town as soon as he was old enough that’s where he started working at Sherritt Gordon Mines.

He later moved onto Colomac Mine N.W.T and spent a couple of years there. He then moved onto Redpath mine in Thompson, MB and had various jobs through the years, later residing in Birch River and started working at the Swan River Health Centre, where he spent 27 ½ years as a fifth-class engineer maintenance worker.  That is where he met his wife Joy. They got married in June of 1999 and lived in Swan River. They raised two handsome boys that he was so proud of. He was a loving person and worked hard passing those values on to his boys. He loved spending time with his family and his dog chopper. Spent a lot of summers camping, his passion was fishing in either the summer or winter. He enjoyed working in his yard and garden making things look good.  He was the type of person that could strike up a conversation with anyone and enjoyed meeting new people.

Norm was a loving husband and father and will forever be loved and missed by: his wife Joy; sons Dylan (Ellesha) & Brenan (Maria) Davy; Brothers, Gordon (Shirley) Scott of Logan Lake B.C., Garth (Debbie) Scott of Birch River, MB, Blaine (Mavis) Davy of Mazatlan, Mexico, Wade (Elaine) Davy of Swan River; Sister Barbra (Howard) Smith of Airdrie, AB and foster sister Eve (Colomb) Brass; Sister-in-Law, Marilyn; brother-in-law, Faron Cook and Family as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Norm was predeceased by: his parents, Allan and Sarah (Peggie) Davy; Brother, Melvin Davy and sister Carolynn Haggarty.

You will always be in our hearts and its not goodbye its until we meet again.

In keeping with Norm’s wishes cremation has taken place and a family service will be held later date.

Entrusted with arrangements are Bardal Funeral Home and Crematorium in Winnipeg and Paull Funeral Home in Swan River.
