Oral Burwash, son of the late Freddie & Florence Burwash, was born on April 17th, 1954 in Roblin, Manitoba. Oral was raised in Boggy Creek until his adolescent years when his father passed away. He attended school at Grand Prairie School while in Boggy Creek. The family then relocated to Bellsite. Following that, Oral ventured many different places before settling into the town of Birch River. Some years later, he purchased the farm where he remained until the time of his own passing on December 23rd, 2023 at the age of 69 years.
Throughout Oral’s working years he dabbled in a few different areas of employment. He did bush work cutting pulp, commercial fishing, some farming, underground mining and diamond drilling. Oral was a lover of nature and spent most of his time outdoors enjoying his cigarettes with a coffee or tea. He would often be found out in the shack or fishing & hunting with his boys or his buddies.
He was the father to 6 kids (Glen, Marla, Tyson, Erin, Derek and Riley) and husband of Carolyn Werbicki. Oral was the kind of father who could always be counted on when needed and although he was not the type to show his love loudly, he made sure to spend unlimited amounts of quality time with his children when the invitation was extended to him. Oral loved his loyal pups Thor and Bohdi to no end.
Surviving family of Oral are: his wife Carolyn Werbicki of 48 years; Sons, Glen (Tracy), Tyson, Derek (Carla) and Riley; daughters, Marla and Erin (Deon); grandchildren, Brooklyn, Megan, Jana, Beth, Dade, Bryar, Tatum, Brinn, Delaney, Liam, Alex, Kemi, Ryanna, Carson, Maggie, Gavin, Maicy, Gage, Merideth, Jude, Maximus, Jetta and Katana; great-grandchildren, Hudson, Hayslee and Holden; siblings, Gloria, Gordon (Pauline), Noella (Grant), Marvin (Angie) and Freddie as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Oral was predeceased by: his dad, Fred; mom, Florence; grandpa Steven Burwash, grandma Caroline Burwash (Laliberte); Pierre Duchense and Marie Duchense (Gosselin).
Oral was the kindest, gentlest soul who loved and accepted everyone for who they were with a heart as big as the sky. His sweet fun ways of always joking and laughing are missed beyond measure.
