Quentin Paul Obituary

Quentin Ashley Paul of Swan River passed away on September 2nd, 2019 at the age of 44 years.

Quentin was born in Swan River, MB on June 20th, 1975 to Patricia Paul and Stanley Cote. He grew up in Swan River, where he attended school, and then later in Winnipeg he continued his education. He lived in Brandon for a few years, before returning to Swan River.

During his life, Quentin worked for 10 plus years for McCullough Logging and then worked for JB Construction for approximately 8 years, until 2013, when he had his first heart attack, while there he specialized in concrete and construction throughout Manitoba to Alberta.

At the age of five years Quentin’s dad fixed up an old guitar for him and that’s where his interest and love began. He began to self teach by putting the guitar flat on his lap to reach the guitar strings. His interest grew as he got older, listening to classic rock music artists, such as Stevie Ray Vaughn, AC/DC, Metallica, just to name a few. Quentin also learned to read guitar tabs and sheet music. He taught his many nieces and nephews with Anthony, Brandon and Nevada really taking a liking to it.

Quentin also enjoyed the weights, he started to lift about 15 years ago and later also taught his nieces and nephews. He loved to pass on what he learned to his children, nieces and nephews.

During his employment with JB Construction he began his interest in woodworking. He began purchasing his own tools and equipment to start this new hobby. Again, to self teach he began to purchase the woodworking books and watching hundred of You Tube videos. Quentin’s first piece was; an end table to Ariel; he went on to make a dining table to Bev; a coffee/end table to Stephanie and a picnic table for Rachel, to mention a few.

With so many to mention, these are just a few of Quentin’s favourite hobbies and interest. His love for these things will go on in the hearts and memories of all his family and his friends.

Quentin is survived by; his daughters Ariel and Ashley; step-son Steven; grandchildren Archie, Luke and Winoah; sisters Sharon, Karen and Bev and brothers Adolph (Big Man), Desmond Sr. (Chop) and Kenneth.

Quentin was predeceased by his parents Patricia Paul and Stanley Cote and by his brother Stanley Paul.
