Richie Gogol

Richard (Ritchie) Gogol was born on May 26th, 1931 in Tadmore, SK to Tom and Irene Gogol (Stusick). Ritchie passed away peacefully at the Swan Valley Hospital on June 12th, 2024 at 93 years of age. Growing up the Gogol family was involved in mixed farming in the Amsterdam/Tadmore/Norquay, SK area until moving to the Durban/Kenville, MB area when Ritchie was 14 years old. Ritchie farmed with his parents and worked away in the winter.

Ritchie married Margaret Gordon in 1959 and worked at the Coop Service station as a mechanic and also kept cattle at the family farm. They raised two daughters, Joanne and Cathy. In 1961, his parents Tom and Irene retired from farming and moved to B.C. Ritchie and Marg moved to the farm in the Durban/Kenville area. They continued mixed farming for a number of years until their retirement in 1997 when they moved to Swan River. Ritchie enjoyed fishing, golf, curling, playing cards and fixing everything and anything. He worked at the Westwood as a handy man and was always fixing things for the neighbors. He really was a jack of all trades. Ritchie and Marg took several trips out to the west coast, Mexico and the US. They really enjoyed their grandchildren and great grandchildren. Always making time to read a book or play a game with them.

Ritchie leaves to mourn his wife, Marg of 64 years. Daughter Joanne and son-in-law Dale Hart, and daughter Cathy, grandchildren Jordan (Nichole), and Caity (Matt) Dolton. Great grandchildren - Brynlee, Blaire, Maisie and Peyton. Sibling Tony (brother). He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.

Ritchie was predeceased by his parents, Tom and Irene Gogol. Sister Nellie, brother Albin, father & mother in-law Jim and Maud Gordon, sister-in-law Shirley Luff.
