Russell was born to Sidney & Doreen Brass on April 18, 1960, at Shoal River, MB. where he was raised + lived most of his life. He passed away at St. Boniface hospital, Wpg, MB, on February 18, 2026 with his brother Norbert + nephew Billy Jack by his side. Russ loved his family + friends, especially his wife Bernice, daughter Loni, son Ozzy, grandchildren Jefferson, Westley, & Winter.

Russ was an outdoors man, liked to explore, being out on the fields picking sweetgrass, but most of all just being out there. To all that knew Russ will miss their daily visits.

Russell’s survived by children Loni & Ozzy, grandchildren Jefferson, Westley, & Winter, brothers: Eldon, Norbert, Gilbert, & Donald, uncles Harold & Alpheus Brass, nephews, nieces, cousins & friends.

Predeceased by his wife Bernice, parents Sidney & Doreen Brass, Alec Genaille, sisters Barbara & Eileen, brothers Colin, Andrew, & Harvey, uncles, aunties, nephew, nieces, & grandparents.

I love you dad so much, you mean everything to me. I feel so lost without you, but I know you are in a better place with mom and kookum, with the rest of the family watching from above. I love you dad forever and ever.
