Shawn was born in Swan River Hospital Manitoba. Shawn passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 23rd, 2023 in Calgary, Alberta.
Shawn attended school at Neil Dennis Kematch Memorial School until grade 9. He then attended school in Brandon for his high school years. Shawn’s passion was to travel; he loved to hitchhike. He enjoyed travelling to West Albert, British Columbia.
Shawn enjoyed visiting his parents, siblings, relatives and friends from Sapotaweyak Cree Nation. Shawn had numerous relatives from Saskatchewan.
Shawn will be greatly missed by his parents Delores and Hughie Leask.

Shawn was predeceased by his grandparents, Martha and Pearly Leask, and Helen Genaille.
His great-grandparents: Julia and Albert Cook, Ada and Louis Genaille.
