In Loving Memory of
Theodore “Ted” Olson of Birch Hills, Saskatchewan passed away in Swan River, Manitoba on August 27th, 2021 at the age of 90 years.
Ted Olson was born in Ratner, Saskatchewan on October 14, 1930 to Lizzie Olson.
During his life, Ted worked as a Camp/Restaurant Cook, a heavy equipment operator, a taxi driver, farm hand as well as he worked for Saskatchewan and Manitoba Highways.
When Ted was a young adult he enlisted in the army and served in Korea during the Korean War. When he returned he met the love of his life Stella Smith and married in 1960 together they had six children Clarence, Brenda, Glenda, Kathy, Wanda and Marilyn. They raised their children together until Stella’s passing in 1985.
Ted had many passions during his life; his love for his family and friends; gardening and canning; animals, he would love to bring home wild and stray animals to care for them; his passion for camping, fishing and hunting, as well as he enjoyed playing crib and taking part in bingo games.
Ted is survived by his brother Doug Schuler (Linda); son Clarence (Sherri) Olson of The Pas, MB; daughters Glenda Olson of Muskoday, SK, Kathy Olson of Minitonas, MB, Brenda Olson of Birch Hills, SK and Wanda Olson of Prince Albert, SK; fourteen grandchildren Margaret Olson (Kevin Bear), Danielle (Steve) Torfason, Monique Olson-Levesque, René Dietz-Hart (Donald Hart), Raymond Dietz (Roxanne Ledoux), Michelle (Andrew) Ripmeester, Randy Dietz, Garret Olson, Brooke (Brady) Ramstead, Christopher Olson, Marilyn Olson-Knight (Davey Desjarlais), Joseph Olson, Dakota Olson, and Shania Olson-Craft; 30 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Ted was predeceased by his stepfather Harry and his mother Lizzie Schuler; wife Stella Olson; daughter Marilyn Olson; by a grandson Edward “Eddy” Olson; sister Kathy Allan and by his nephew Mike Schuler.
