Thomas Lee Cook of Sapotaweyak Cree Nation, passed away in Winnipeg, Manitoba on July 8th, 2021 at the age of 27 years.
Thomas was born in Swan River on July 10, 1993 to Gilbert Thomas Cook (Darlene Cook) and Norma Campeau.
Thomas grew up in Sapotaweyak, and later he moved in to Swan River to live with his dad Gilbert and mom Darlene. While in Swan River he attended and received his education at Swan River Adult Education and had a few odd jobs.
The passion that Thomas had was for drawing and tattoo work. Every summer he loved helping pick sweet grass with his dad and cousins. He liked being around his nephews, nieces, as he was a very good uncle to them all.
Left to mourn Thomas’s passing are his father Gilbert Cook (Darlene Cook); mother Norma Campeau; brothers Waylon, Thereon, Brian, Darren (Theresa), Ice, Boxer, Khristian and Lucas; and by his sisters Christin, Lore (Joseph) and Julie (Hank).
Thomas was predeceased by Johnny and Mina Cook, Joe and Bella Campeau, many family members that are too many to name; and by his favorite auntie Rose Genaille.
In keeping with traditions, a wake and funeral will take place.
Thomas will be laid to rest in the St. Andrews Anglican Cemetery, Pelican Rapids, MB.
