Velma was born on February 3rd, 1952 in Birch River, Manitoba hospital to Stanley and Grace Kematch.
Mother of Patricia Kematch, Sonny Campbell, Peter Campbell, Truman Campbell, Adlord Campbell, Cecily Campbell, and took Chantal Constant in as her own.
Grandmother of Skylynn Campbell, Reid Brass-Cook, Harmony Campbell, Dreiden Kematch, Linnea Easter, Kyle Tucker, Liam Campbell, Welena Campbell, Lloyd Easter, Xavier Campbell, and Zane Campbell.
Chapan of Lavon Kematch, Kyler Campbell, Adonis Kematch, Karissma and Mikayla Campbell, and Devin Campbell.
Sister to Yvonne Muchikekwanape (Ernest), Virginia George (Clifford), Annabelle Tucker, and brother Edwin Kematch. Cousins Ernie Kematch, Flora Kematch-Cook (Reynold), Delbert Kematch. In-Laws Caroline Buck, Kate Naskcowpow, James Campbell (Ethel), Ernest Campbell, Henrey Campbell.
Velma worked as a teacher for 50 years, she also enjoyed going for rides around Sapotaweyak and traveling around. She liked watching TV shows, she really enjoyed being around her grandchildren and spending time with them. She also liked telling stories and also talking to people.
