Vivian Woodley Obituary

Vivian Jean Woodley (Currey) – passed away peacefully at the Brandon Regional Health Centre, in Brandon, MB on March 4, 2024.  Vivian was born in Roblin, MB to James and Jean Currey. 

Vivian was raised and attended school in Roblin, MB.  After she graduated, she moved to Dauphin to work at the Bank of Nova Scotia.  While she was living in Dauphin, she met the love of her life, George.  George and Vivian were married on June 30, 1962 in the United Church, in Roblin, MB.  They lived in Dauphin, where they had two children, Raymond and Darla.  In 1966, they moved to Churchbridge , SK where they lived for 2 years and later moved to Delisle, SK where their third child, Laura was born.  Shortly after Laura was born, they moved to Swan River where they lived for 5 more years until finally settling in Minitonas, MB.  Vivian focused on raising her family and when the children were older, worked at the Coop in Swan River until her health began to fail.  Vivian loved to cook, bake, garden and can.  After her health failed, she took up knitting and crocheting to pass the time.  She loved to have company and enjoyed visits with both family and friends.  The grandchildren and great grandchildren held a special place in her heart and she was always excited when they came to visit. She spent many hours listening to George play music, loving every minute.   She was a member of the Legion and of the Knox United Church. 

Vivian was predeceased by her loving daughter- Darla; her parents - James and Jean Currey and her siblings - Jim, Art, Marg, Alice and Arlene.

Vivian is survived by her loving husband, George;  their children- Raymond (Carolann) Woodley, Laura (Grant)Blandin and son in law, Calvin Leslie;  grandchildren - Chantel Woodley, Clayton (Latasha) Woodley, Kendall Leslie, Kolton Leslie, Keegan (Brandy)Leslie and Levi Blandin;  great-grandchildren - Ashton, Skyler, Nixon, Emmett, Kessler and Kayde.

Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to a Charity of your choice in Vivian’s memory.

In keeping with Vivian's wishes, cremation will take place and she will be laid to rest at a later date in the Minitonas Cemetery.
