A funeral is a declaration that a life has been lived and a statement that a death has occurred

It helps confirm the reality and finality of death

A funeral provides a climate for mourning and the expression of grief

It allows the sorrows of one to become the sorrows of many

A funeral is a vehicle for the community to pay its respects

It encourages the affirmation of religious faith

A funeral is one of the few times love is given and not expected in return

A traditional funeral usually includes a viewing, visitation or prayer service and a formal service officiated by a clergy member or celebrant.  The casket or urn is present at the funeral and is carried by pallbearers to the hearse which transports the casket or urn to the cemetery for interment.

Each funeral is as unique as the life of the loved one it is honoring.  Many aspects of the funeral service can be customized to create a fitting and moving final triubte.  Some of the options where the personality of your loved one can be expressed include:

  • Memorial bulletins, prayer cards and remembrances
  • Music, poems and prayers
  • Style of casket or urn
  • Memory tables, picture boards and video slideshows
